Denise in Rolling Stone

August 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. When the Oscar-winning film Oppenheimer was in theaters, Rolling Stone asked me to write about all the other folks—especially young women—who were the focus of The Girls of Atomic City and worked behind the scenes on the Manhattan Project.
